hallo

ik hoop dat je engels kent , m'n engels is beter dan m'n nederlands tegenwoordig lol ;;;;

step 1.

get the divx/xvid and subtitle file. and make sure your subs are synchronised using subsync
srt files are ok, no need to convert that.

step 2.

get roxio easy media creator 7.5. don't care if you buy/download it.
it has a divx to dvd tool.
its the best divx/xvid convertor i've met. no blurry or blocky conversions and sound is sync. u can even join 2 avi's if you choose them both for source. choose target folder, leave full or wide screen on automatic, just click pal/ntsc and within 1h or 1.5h its finished. you got your video_ts ready to burn (if you're english.) <?xml:namespace prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" /><v:shapetype id=_x0000_t75 stroked="f" filled="f" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" o:preferrelative="t" o:spt="75" coordsize="21600,21600"><v:stroke joinstyle="miter"></v:stroke><v:formulas><v:f eqn="if lineDrawn pixelLineWidth 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @0 1 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum 0 0 @1"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @2 1 2"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelWidth"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelHeight"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @0 0 1"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @6 1 2"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelWidth"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @8 21600 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelHeight"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @10 21600 0"></v:f></v:formulas><v:path o:connecttype="rect" gradientshapeok="t" o:extrusionok="f"></v:path><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:lock aspectratio="t" v:ext="edit"></o:lock></v:shapetype><v:shape id=_x0000_i1025 style="WIDTH: 11.25pt; HEIGHT: 11.25pt" type="#_x0000_t75" alt="Smile"><v:imagedata o:href="http://www.burningbits.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif" src="file:///C:\DOCUME~1\DONNY'~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\msohtml1\01\cli p_image001.gif"></v:imagedata></v:shape>

now for the subs.
step 3.

i use dvd lab pro 1.53 to ad the subs.

if source are 2 avi's

(left under) import vts 1_1.vob and choose join+demultiplex.
it joins 1_1 and 1_2 . drag mpv and ac3 file to video and audio track of movie 1.
now click on sub1 (on timeline of movie 1) and import your "already sync" srt file. choose language and change font (http://www.burningbits.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2199) to e.g fat outline.
and click "generate subtitle stream".

when it's done, ad a new movie (movie 2) and do the same.
import vts 2_1 and choose join and demultiplex.
drag ac3 audio and mpv video +sub....... its the same.....

you might wanna set auto-chapters..... or the dvd might miss chapters.
(hence the gop remark after vob-imports) for both movies.

if source is just 1 avi

if video_ts folder (from roxio) just shows e.g vts 1_1 and 1_2 and 1_3 and 1_4..... but no 2_1.......
just import vts 1_1.vob to join everything (1.1 1.2 1.3 ......) together.
drag mpv and ac3 on timeline +sub
(maybe even auto-chapter)

and then choose (above) project--compile dvd, set your target folder and temp folder. let it work
and voila, the new video_ts folder is ready to burn with nero.

(if u like u can also use dvd lab to build menu's, otherwise choose "simple movie" when you start dvd lab pro)

works for me!!!!

no software crash
perfect image like divx
audio sync
and subs sync.
no S-video cable.
and no nagging wife that she cant watch the movie without subs (= what made me figure this all out in the first place lol <v:shape id=_x0000_i1026 style="WIDTH: 11.25pt; HEIGHT: 11.25pt" type="#_x0000_t75" alt="Very Happy"><v:imagedata o:href="http://www.burningbits.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif" src="file:///C:\DOCUME~1\DONNY'~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\msohtml1\01\cli p_image002.gif"></v:imagedata></v:shape>)

hope i was helpful!!!!

oops forgot 1 thing.

with 2 avi's:

in dvd lab pro (just before you compile dvd)
go to "connections"
and set ending of movie 1 to link to the second.
if not, your dvd player will stop halfway (root)

voila, that's it i guess

normaal zet je de subs erbij voor je de vob bestanden begint aan te maken ik gebruik hiervoor ffdshow voor de subs en laat het converte met winavi en werkt beide perfect te samen
